Later, walk past the famous Chinese fishing nets at sunset. If you’re interested, you can watch a traditional Kerala dance performance in the evening.

Leave Cochin after breakfast and drive to Munnar, a beautiful hill station adorned with tea gardens. Check into your hotel and take the rest of the afternoon to wander among the plantations, sip fresh tea, or simply enjoy the mountain air. Overnight in Munnar.

Spend the day exploring Munnar’s top attractions. Witness the Anamudi Peak, which is the highest point in South India, and enjoy sweeping views from Top Station. Visit Christ Church, Eravikulam National Park (closed Jan–Feb), Rajamala Hills, and Matupetty Dam. Each stop offers a different side of Munnar, from wildlife to waterfalls. Later, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Today, drive down to Periyar in the morning. Once there, check into your hotel and head for a boat ride on Periyar Lake, where you might spot elephants, birds, and other wildlife. You can also visit a nearby tribal village to witness honey gathering and crafts, giving you a glimpse of the traditional life there.

After breakfast, drive to Kumarakom. This is Kerala’s backwater country, a quiet place of canals fringed by the swaying palm trees. Check into your lakeside resort and spend the afternoon unwinding by the water, visiting the bird sanctuary, or taking a short canoe ride.

Board a traditional Kerala houseboat and cruise through the backwaters toward Alleppey. This journey is one of the highlights of Kerala, passing villages, coconut groves, and paddy fields while you relax on deck. Dinner and stay are on the boat.
