The Union Ministry of Tourism has confirmed in a recent Lok Sabha response that the medical tourism sector in India has rebounded from the pandemic, with potential for continued growth due to quality healthcare options, cost savings, and enhanced visa assistance.
India is becoming one of the leading medical tourism destinations in the world due to its extensive government backing and increasing digital presence. Inbound tourists are important to this area of tourism. However, there hasn't yet been any specific official study or state-wide demographic breakdown on this type of inbound tourism.
